We are now accepting resumes for our Mortgage Underwriter position located in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate for this position will have the skills and experience necessary to:
  • Be responsible for analyzing, underwriting, evaluating and forming opinions for approving or denying mortgage residential and construction loan applications according to business and credit standards as well as applicable laws and regulations
  • Review documents and forms within system
  • Gather information as necessary to make sound decisions
  • Respond to internal and external customer inquiries. Recommends exceptions based on findings
  • May have authority to approve loans beyond the organizations guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Requires a Bachelors degree and some credit analysis, underwriting, mortgage processing and products or other related lending experience
  • A combination of education and experience
  • 5-7 years of residential underwriting experience
  • FHA/VA underwriting a plus but not required
  • Basic knowledge of credit, spread analysis, finance and lending procedures, preferably in mortgage residential and construction lending
  • An understanding of mortgage products and regulations
  • Ability to work independently. Good mathematical and analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks
  • Good attention to detail
